Usually people like to find something more sophisticated to moisturize their skin than using the old fashioned petroleum jelly, Vaseline. Vaseline is 100% pure petroleum jelly that comes in tubs of various sizes. A travel size of 1.75oz or 49g is available as well as larger tubs. Vaseline also make products for lips. Vaseline is a low cost solution to dry and chapped skin.

Uses of Vaseline

The only active ingredient of Vaseline is white petrolatum USP (100%). Vaseline helps protect the skin from the drying effects of wind and cold weather. Although, Vaseline is for protecting minor cuts, scrapes and burns, you should not use it on deep or puncture wounds, animal bites or serious burns.

The uses of Vaseline range from moisturizes skin to healing dryness. However, not many people really use Vaseline as a skin moisturizer if there are other products that they can afford to use.
